Now that the success rate with frozen semen has gone up it is so much easier to administer than chilled semen. The semen is there when it is needed and we don’t have to guess when the mare will ovulate or hope that it is not during a holiday when transporting the chilled semen is not possible. Working with International Competition Stallions has been a pleasure.
The first year I used one mare with International Competitions Stallions special money back package and she was in foal. The second year I inseminated three mares two being in foal and I received my money back for the mare not in foal. This year I have four mares going to ICS Stallions. Many of the videos show the young stock the stallions have produced. Together with this and the independent advice I receive from ICS. I can decide on the best match for my mare.
I used to worry about my mare going away to stud and the risk of injury and disease. Not any more.
By using frozen semen from one of the ICS stallions my mare can be inseminated at one of the local insemination centres (only five miles away) and she will not come in contact with a stallion or any mares. It is better for my mare and better for me.
