In 1993 with his first crop of 3 year-olds, The Millstreet National Championship, the Young Irelander was something of a testimony to Cavalier. No fewer than 8 of the Cavalier 3 year-olds qualified for the Millstreet final with 5 winning through to the Saturday night's final session (last 30). He finished with the Champion, Magnetic, 5th and 9th. In 1994 Cavalier had an unbelievable 14 qualify for Millstreet in the Young Irelander, while in the 4 year old Championship, the National Discovery he had 3 in the final 12. In 1995 a daughter of Cavalier, Lady Betty, won the Young Irelander again from his 6 qualifiers while in the 4-year-old championship he had 14 starters, and unbelievably 7 still in contention for the Friday night final session. He finished with 2 in the last 10 including the runner up (second place), Clona (now called Gardini Stardust)
Cavalier has had more winners and finalists of all the young horse championships than the progeny from any other stallion in Ireland. Cavalier's success in Ireland has been spectacular both on the performance circuit and in the sales ring.
His successes have been so numerous and country wide they are best illustrated by enumerating the performance of his stock in the last few international shows in Ireland in 1998.

To illustrate the strength in depth of Cavalier stock in Europe the result of the Summer 98 Reims (France) Young Riders (under 21) Nations Cup is a good example. The Swiss team won the Gold from the rest of Europe and there were no less than 3 Cavaliers on the victorious side. These were Dreamin, Royal Agent and Groovy.
