| The top show jumpers in the world have received invitations for one of the greatest shows in the world. Olympia, The London International Horse Show, Londonīs Christmas spectacular, runs 13th-19th December action packed performances, ten of which include some of the finest show jumping to be seen anywhere in the world. For show jumping fans from Britain, it will be the only chance to see the top three British riders and the best riders on the international scene compete indoors this year. Britainīs top three Nick Skelton, Michael Whitaker and Robert Smith missed HOYS when they opted for the million dollar Las Vegas Invitational. No.īs 4-6 in the British Rankings are all from the Whitaker family, Robert, John and Ellen head William Funnell, Tim Stockdale, Mark Armstrong and Hicksteadīs young guru, Ben Maher. From the international field, Germany top the list of invitations with seven riders invited including Marcus Ehning, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Ludger Beerbaum, Marco Kutscher, Christian Ahlmann and Lars Nieberg. The other nations invited include Austria (1 rider), Belgium (3 including Ludo Philippaerts), Rodrigo Pessoa from Brazil, Denmark (1), Finland (1), France (2), Ireland (1), Italy (1), Netherlands (2), Norway (1), Spain (1), Sweden (1) and Markus Fuchs from Switzerland. All will be jumping for a prize fund of a whopping Ģ249,000. The tension of the show jumping programme, including Britainīs only World Cup Qualifier, will be interspersed with displays from the beauty and elegance of the French Presidential Guard, La Garde Republicaine.
