| Woodlander Stud's success continued at the British Warm-Blood Society (BWBS) grading when Lynne Crowden's home-bred Woodlander Bombay Sapphire stood champion of the six stallions graded into the studbook. Although Bombay Sapphire is destined for a career in dressage and his damsire is Weltmeyer, he is by the Trakehner Buddenbrook — who is by the show jumper Sixtus, a son of the eventing stallion Habicht. Bombay Sapphire, who was produced for the grading by Edward Evans, showed his bloodlines by gaining eights for his own jumping. Lynne hopes to attract Thoroughbred mares for him. "It would be great to have some event mares. He has lots of energy and is a real braveheart," she said. |
