Canadian rider Alexandria Wilson improved her scores of September in Brazilian Porto Alegre (click here for Results Gerdau, Porto Alegre) and did win the Grand Prix and finished second in the Freestyle to music aboard Oceano do Top, an 11-year-old Lusitano stallion owned by Tonico Perreira and José Roberto Guimarães. “Oceano is a wonderful character, extremely intelligent, and with a heart as big as he is”, said Wilson, who has ridden Oceano up through the levels, competing in their first Grand Prix last year. A previous short listed rider, Wilson, who was originally from British Columbia, moved to Brazil, where she has been riding and competing for several years. After graduating from the Young Riders ranks, where she competed at the North American Young Riders Championships in 1997, her first major breakthrough as an international senior rider came in 2003 when she was selected as the alternate rider for the Canadian Team at the Open European Dressage Championships.
