Bluegrass Horse Feed Put To The Test In Bahrain 12-07-2005 11:56 am

Blue Grass Horse Feeds is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Irish Young Riders team at the World Endurance Championships in Bahrain.

The championships, which will be held on 17th December, are a true test of endurance for horse and rider. With temperatures expected to be in excess of 30 degrees Centigrade and a distance of 120 kilometres to cover in just one day, the horses are dependent on the top quality Bluegrass Feeds they receive.

The gruelling race is not the only challenge that the horses will face. To be in with any chance of winning the horses have to be in top condition when they arrive in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The horses will travel to Maastricht in Holland and then board a flight to Bahrain. Upon arrival they will have three weeks to acclimatise and recover from the journey before the competition.

The Irish Young Riders team is made up of three 19 year olds - Emily Miller riding DVS Tahini, a 12-year -old Trotter X, Dawn Leadon-Bolger riding Damascus DÌazat an 8-year-old pure bred Arab, and Philip Giles riding Millers Light, a 10 year old Irish Sport Horse.

Philip, who is from County Down, has been feeding Re-Leve to Millers Light and is delighted with the results: "In the past Millers Light has been prone to tyingup, despite numerous attempts to eradicate the problem. Since feeding Re-Leve the problem has been rectified and Millers Light looks great and has lots of energy."

Re-Leve is a low starch feed fortified with Equi-Jewel (an energy dense, high fat supplement) and Stamm 30 the industry's leading vitamin, mineral and protein supplement for performance horses.
