New jumping and dressage breeding values for KWPN stallions are available. In early February, it was discovered that an error was made loading the data for the breeding value estimates to calculate breeding values. A file with international sport data on 500 horses was not loaded. Although this is a relatively small number out of the more than 100,000 sport scores, the error affects several stallions because of the extreme values concerned. For example, Libero H and Indoctro have climbed approximately 10 breeding value points. The Stallion Keuring Committee, upon request by the Board of Directors, reevaluated the older stallions that were evaluated at the end of 2005, based on the new breeding values. As a result, the previously published decisions for several stallions are changed, namely for Hemmingway and Epilot. The new breeding value has increased for both; as a result, both meet the 120 minimum directive. Therefore, these stallions are definitively approved. Furthermore, the stallion Celano has been awarded a keur predicate. The other publicized decisions remain unchanged. Incidentally, an appeal has been filed, which the Reinspection Committee will soon address. Source: KWPN |
