The Dressage Gala on Sunday 23 April will be a splendid finale to a unique edition of Jumping Amsterdam. The fabulous evening will be presented by ‘The Next Generation’ with Edward Gal, Kirsten Beckers, Laurens van Lieren, Imke Schellekens-Bartels and Marlies van Baalen. This young generation shape the future of Dutch dressage. After months of intense preparation, together they will present the musical Dressage Gala with various renowned DJs and the popular dance pair Jim and Julie joining in.

The full evening programme is made up of a combination of competition elements and show sections- an evening for dressage fans in the broadest possible sense. The evening will be concluded by Dressage & Dance, an unusual presentation whereby Edward Gal and Laurens van Lieren will ride a beautiful musical kür to R & B, Hiphop and trance music of well known DJs among which will be DJ Jeff of Juize FM. As well as this, Imke Schellekens-Bartels and Marlies van Baalen will appear together in a marvellous and surprising performance with the couple Jim and Julie- known through ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

As well as Dressage & Dance there will also be show performances by Christa Laarakkers and her coal black Friesians, Dieuwertje van Donselaar and even harness horses will appear in the arena at the RAI in this wonderful evening. Performances and dressage sections will alternate at the Dressage Gala. The evening will commence with the Freestyle Prize: in this section the members of ‘The Next Generation’ will ride a pas de deux with various talented young dressage horses. During the evening, the finals of the Intermediaire I musical kür will also take place as well as the Stübben Maestoso Prize, whereby three selected basic riders will come out in the Z2. The evening’s outing to ‘Jumping’ will be made complete by a visit to the extensive promotional village with a view of the warming-up arena. The village is full of stalls, restaurants and cafés with a typical Amsterdam character. To put it briefly, lovers of equestrian sport in general and dressage in particular absolutely should not miss an evening such as this.
